Although I'm a little late, Chavez won his third term. But it is suspected he won by cheating! Read more here! http://peoplesworld.org/venezuelan-president-hugo-chavez-wins-third-term/
Nice article Maria! It's interesting to see the view of the supporters of Chavez as opposed to his opponents. His courting to the poor seems to be the major reason he is popular in Venezuela. However, the possibility of cheating is very real since many Venezuelans live abroad and the majority of them are against Chavez and his socialist policies. And since Chavez's influence in Venezuela is widespread, no doubt the National Electoral Council is also influenced.
